Star Wars and Your Inner Child

I have loved “Star Wars” since I was six years old, the year it came out. I have been obsessed ever since! The Force spoke to me; the Light and the Dark spoke to me more than any religion. “Star Wars” has always helped me live a more positive life. I try to live my life with the glass half full, I try to understand that everything changes in life and I also try to enjoy the change. I definitely have not always lived by these statements but in my heart, I try.

I know this sounds simplistic but maybe every time I watch them I channel my inner six-year-old, who saw the world as much simpler. With this knowledge I try to remind myself to stop trying to make everything so complicated, to remember to always choose the light over the dark, and that by simply making a choice I am making a change in the world.

Yoda reminds me to stay detached. Caroline Myss says: “Detachment doesn't mean we don't care, but rather that we are detaching (letting go) from the fear of the outcome.” This is a very Yoda quote and leads into another Yoda quote: “Fear is the path to the dark side, fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.” This statement is so true. May we all let go of our fear. Thank you Yoda for putting more peace into our universe.

I want to thank J.J. Abrams for taking on this incredibly stressful task of making a new Star Wars film. I have faith that he has done an amazing job. I will find out this Monday December 21, 2015 at 4pm. May the Force be with you!
